20 years of Asa de Aguia

Popular Brazilian band Asa de Águia, which is Portuguese for Eagle Wings, celebrated 20 years as a band with a special concert on May 1 in Salvador, in their home state of Bahia, Brazil. Devoted to axé music, Asa de Águia has recorded 13 albums and sold 3 million copies.

120 frames of G-LEC’s Phantom 60 system were suspended from the aluminium arch of the temporary outdoor Orbit Stage to provide 120 m² of brilliant LED Video.

Transparency was an issue here, as an ordinary screen would have been prone to wind forces that could have wrecked a more solid structure.

The 60mm pitch screen was perfect against the night sky, providing exciting and colourful graphics which enhanced the pulse and heat of the music.

G-LEC’s Technical Manager, Fabio Cabral, was responsible for the installation and was delighted that the rigging was so easy. Only the Phantom LED Video display system is light enough for such a temporary stage, but equally important, only the 1x1 m Phantom frames are easy enough to handle and rig at such heights.

At the end of the concert, Asa de Águia singer Dirceu cried out: “Thank you G-LEC for such a beautiful sky!”
